The nose is immediately expressive, bursting with ripe red berries—blackberry, mulberry, and fresh red cherries—layered with hints of plum and a subtle lift of violet florals. Underneath the fruit lies a gentle thread of spice, offering nuances of clove, star anise, and graphite adding complexity to the exuberant fruit aromatics.

On the palate, the wine is plush and full-bodied, yet beautifully balanced. The juicy dark fruit core is supported by fine, ripe tannins and a well-integrated oak influence that imparts a soft spice and a touch of mocha through the mid-palate. The finish is long, smooth with just a flicker of peppery spice to close.

"This does what the label says. Rich, ripe, full flavoured. Supple texture with plush, velvety tannins, dark cherry and cola fruit characters, sweet spice, Black Forest cake, ginger notes, sinewy cedar. It’s bold and rich, but holds a kind of coolness and balance. A milk cream and vanilla note too. Pleasing stuff in its direct, shiraz frame."
